Getting Back into Routine

Let’s be honest: getting back into a routine after vacation can feel a bit overwhelming. The emails, the meetings, the “what do I need to do again?” feeling. But here’s a tip—start small. You don’t need to dive headfirst into a packed schedule. Ease yourself in with these tips:

Prioritize Tasks: Focus on the most important things first. What needs to get done today? What can wait? This helps prevent that post-vacation burnout.

Create a Morning Routine: Even if you’re not heading back to an office, having a morning routine sets the tone for the day. A good cup of coffee, a little stretching, or maybe some meditation to centre yourself.

Plan Your Week: Take a few minutes on Sunday night to look at the week ahead. This can help reduce the “Monday scaries” and give you a clearer sense of what’s coming up.

Now, let’s talk wardrobe because nothing says “I’m back” like a confident outfit.

What to Wear: Back to Work Mode

Whether you’re heading into the office, jumping on a Zoom call, or working from a cozy coffee shop, what you wear can totally set the vibe for your day. Let’s focus on practical yet stylish looks that’ll make you feel ready to conquer the world—or at least that inbox.

Work to wear

The Power Combo: A Blazer and Jeans. Blazers instantly elevate any look. Pair a tailored blazer with your favourite jeans for that “put-together but still relaxed” vibe. It’s perfect for meetings or when you want to feel a bit more polished.

Easy, Breezy Dresses: If you want something no-fuss, throw on a comfortable dress. Dresses are a one-and-done solution that takes minimal effort but still looks super chic. You can dress them up or down with accessories depending on your day.

Comfy, Stylish Jumpsuits: Jumpsuits are another no-brainer for those days when you don’t want to overthink your outfit. They’re super comfortable, but they still give you a stylish, put-together look without all the extra pieces.

The Trusty Flats or Low Heels: You don’t have to go for sky-high heels to feel dressed up. A nice pair of flats or low heels can keep you comfortable while still looking professional. A pointed flat will elongate the leg, giving you that polished look without sacrificing comfort.

Transitioning from Vacation Wardrobe to Work Wardrobe

You probably lived in comfy clothes or swimsuits during your break, so transitioning back to workwear can feel like a shock to the system. But don’t stress—ease into it!

Mix Vacation Pieces with Work Staples: Take an autumn vacation top and pair it with tailored trousers or your favourite pair of jeans. Or throw a blazer or cardigan over a summer dress to make it more work-appropriate. Adding a thin turtleneck under your dress or wearing footed tights can also make it more seasonal.

Focus on Comfort: Just because you’re back in the grind doesn’t mean you need to ditch comfort. Look for breathable fabrics and comfortable cuts that keep you feeling good throughout the day.

A Quick Wardrobe Reset

If your wardrobe is feeling a little uninspiring post-vacation, this could be the perfect time for a mini refresh. Here’s a quick way to do it:

Wardrobe Audit: Go through your closet and pull out the items you haven't worn in ages. It’s a great way to remind yourself of what you own and maybe even get creative with some new outfit combinations.

Freshen Up Your Go-To Pieces: Sometimes, a good clean or a little tailoring can breathe new life into your favourite items.
